One tutorial said to assign IP addresses, and after trying that, I was finally able to do filesharing (fast!), but remote desktop still doesn't Through their gigabyte ports with a crossover cable didn't work, so I bought a switch, which didn't work either. Using my DSL router to connect, they mostly see each other, and Remote Desktop works fine. Just trying to wire two computers together – been working on this for days.
